"Dragonfly" is an abstract landscape painting in shades of grey, black, white, and gold—harmonious colors, yet full of interesting contrasts and effects. There’s a wonderful depth and play of light within the piece. In the foreground, two dragonflies dance, bringing life and movement to the scene. I painted this work in September, a month that was unusually warm this year, with beautiful weather and crisp, clear air—perfect conditions for dragonflies to enjoy the warmth. I’ve always been amazed by these large, beautiful insects with their delicate wings. It’s fascinating to think that their lives last only 2-3 weeks. If our lives were that short, how would we think? What would we prioritize?
This painting serves as a reminder that life is precious. It encourages us to cherish every day and not take a single moment for granted.
